Coup – Bluffing & Deception Card Game

You are the head of a family in a corrupt Italian city-state. Manipulate, bluff and bribe your way to power — because only one family will survive. In Coup, your goal is to destroy the influence of all other players, forcing them into exile. The last player with a face-down character card wins.

Each player starts with two coins and two hidden character cards. On your turn, claim any character’s action — whether you actually have that card or not. But beware: opponents can challenge your bluff, and if you’re caught, you lose influence. Lose both cards and you’re out.

The Five Characters

• Duke – Take 3 coins; block foreign aid
• Assassin – Pay 3 coins to assassinate a rival’s character
• Contessa – Block assassination attempts against yourself
• Captain – Steal 2 coins from a player; block stealing
• Ambassador – Swap character cards from the deck; block stealing
